America is the land of opportunity, not entitlement. As an American citizen, you are guaranteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. You are not guaranteed hand-outs, a job, and the lifestyle of your choosing. Here is a loaded task I have for the Occupiers: Tell me what "it" is that you deserve...why you deserve "it"...and how occupying a public park will help you obtain"it". And by the way...what the fuck is "it" in the first place?
Don't punish the tax payers!!! They are the ones who are paying the cops overtime to make sure you don't act a fool in the park. How are you punishing the 1% if you are screwing with the taxpayers (a majority of them being in the 99%)? Don't occupy a park...occupy your finances! Stop swiping those credit cars and making your self depending on these lending agencies who live off of the interst you pay. Debt fuels this evil monster.
Do you know what else fuels the evil monster??? Dependence! Who the hell is proud to accept government assistance??? And I'm not talking about Military Veterans and Young students trying to get their degrees...I'm talking about government assistance for food stamps and unemployment. Don't get me wrong...I'm all for providing food stamps for needy families and unemployment checks for the people who have hit a rut...but why continue to depend on it? It should be temporary shouldn't it? It's there so you wont starve while getting your next job.
I know I'm starting to sound like a conservative talk show host...but I am really starting to think that something is wrong. Dependence should always be temporary. Welfare is a lot like training wheels...you should feel better about yourself the sooner you stop using it. Have we gotten too comfortable riding around on our training wheels? When economic times get tough, so does job market competition. You'll have to fight harder for wages that are less desirable than what they used to be. It comes with the territory when fewer jobs are available.
I don't think the "Occupier" movement grasped that message. I know they are feed up. I know they are angry. But they aren't making progress in obtaining their vague goal. It's almost a lost cause when you think about it. They remind me of the TEA Party movement...Sore Losers. What they are doing is kinda like a mountain climber spending more time complaining about the size of the mountain instead of just climbing it. "Occupy Basecamp" in protest of the few who have made it to the top?
America is the "rags to riches" country. We have the opportunity to be raised in the ghetto and be a college graduate in the same lifespan. We have the opportunity to climb corporate ladders. We have to opportunity to compete for more opportunities!!! Do not get your opportunities confused with your entitlements.
