Nod Your Head To This!!!
1. Time Bomb
"Let Me Introduce You to the Excitable Crew"
Great opening tune. I see this gaining popularity at live shows. Especially the mosh pits because this song was written for them.
2. Wild Nights
"Where Would We Be Without the Wild Nights?"
Not one of my favorites as far as lyrics are concerned. Great music though. This is a good song to jog to because the beat keeps your blood pumping.
3. Sunset In July
"Watching You Dancin' and Havin' the Time of Your Life"
This was their lead off single...and a good choice. Catchy chorus and a bridge that is great to sing along to and will get stuck in your head. S.A. Martinez has some funky lyrics in this song. Listen to it here: http://www.spin.com/articles/exclusive-311-debut-funky-new-single
4. Trouble
"Enough of all the Liquor and Enough of Pharmaceuticals."
This jam has an "islandy" tune to it as if it was composed in Jamaica. Reggae undertones and lyric style makes this a "head bobbing" tune by 311.
5. Count Me In
"We Can Make War or We can Make Love Until I Can Figure Out What I'm Thinkin' Of"
This is really Catchy...but I can't help but to feel as if this song is a "Fuck Buddy" proposal between members of the opposite sex. Nick Hexum's "ohhhhhh" in the middle of the song was unexpected.
6. Rock On
"You Give in to the Pity Party, Party of One, No One Shows Up."
This was a pretty "hard" song as far as 311 standards are concerned. The break near the end of the song is what this makes this song good for me. This song sounds best played loud, especially with the guitar solo near the end.
7. Weightless
"We Are Beyond Supposed Separations, Those Are Just Our Creations."
This is one of my favorite songs on this whole album. It took a little time to grow on me, but it was a lock when I listened to the lyrics. This is truly a song written for the fans.
8. And A Ways To Go
"Destination No Where"
It is always a hit-or-miss when it comes to 311's last track on all of their albums. They usually use that as their most "creative" and "open-minded" track. I wasn't impressed with this one. Their last album, Uplifter, had a good closing track, "My Heart Sings"... as a matter of fact that song was what my wife and I danced to as our first dance at our wedding. "And A Ways To Go" is a miss with me.
