Try That In A "Sundown" Town

Jason Aldean is just like a handful of other right-wing puppets.  He might not believe in a lot of the stuff he says, but he has to say it to remain relevant amongst the people most likely to line dance to his music and support him.  The song was written by a group of folks not named Jason Aldean.  He grew up in Macon, GA, the second largest city in the state of Georgia.  I grew up in a smaller town than Aldean.

The group of folks that shot up cans of Bud Light are the same ones complaining that cancel culture is what got Aldean's "Try That in a Small Town" video removed from the Country Music Television's (CMT) rotation.  The best example of cancel culture is what happened to the Dixie Chicks after they had the "nerve" to criticize a Republican President at a concert.  You can't complain about cancel culture when you are banning books, destroying Dixie Chicks albums, and burning Kaepernick jerseys.

Any one smart would know EXACTLY why his video was taken off of CMT.  He directed that song to only a certain group of folks.  He was directing that song to people in big towns.  He was directing that song to people upset with police brutality in minority communities.  He was directing that song to Black Lives Matter demonstrators.  He was directing that song to the protesters upset with the death of George Floyd.  He WASN'T directing that song to a certain group of protesters in a big town called Washington D.C on January 6, 2021.  Go figure.

I will not be a hypocrite in this situation though.  Although I know why CMT removed this video from Its rotation, I don't think it should have been removed.  This is for the same reason why I didn't want "F*&@ Tha Police" by NWA removed.  If you truly believe in freedom of speech then you should be OK with speech you do not agree with.  I disagree with burning flags just like I disagree with hooded individuals burning crosses, but people should have the right to do so as long as they are willing to endure the consequences that follow.

Just don't think we are fools, Mr. Aldean; when you mention "good ol' boys, raised up right" you are not talking about boys that look like Ahmaud Arbery, you are talking about boys that look like his killers.

Don't know you know why some of these Towns are so small?  It's because the number of people who don't want to live there vastly outnumber the ones that do.  If more people want to leave a town than the ones who want to stay...then that town will be small.  Small towns are small for a reason.  Bigots in small towns are too scared to be bigots in big towns.  That's why you'll never see a Klan parade in Atlanta.

Aldean is screwed.  He's forced to cater to bigots in disguise and double down on this song's hidden message.  He has to pretend that "they're gonna round up" everyone's guns because that's what his biggest supporters are dumb enough to believe.  That's why Trump is pretending to be an innocent victim.  Because most of his unsophisticated supporters are dumb enough to believe that he is both innocent and a victim.  If most of your allies are gullible dumbasses, you have to pretend to become one yourself to keep those allies.  Now Aldean has to pretend that he is from a small town.

Although he grew up in Macon, GA he now lives in Nashville, TN (which isn't a small Town either).  Both Macon and Nashville have plenty of Hoods where he will be too chicken shit to perform this song.  Please...grab your tiki torches, your khakis, your white hoods, your Confederate and "Let's Go Brandon Flags"...and "Try hat in the Hood."  Not all of you will be as lucky at Kyle Rittenhouse.

Random Mind Dumplings 36

I think a lot of NRA funded Congressmen and Senators would change their view on gun control if there was a mass shooting on Capitol Hill.  Why care about what happens in public schools if your children are homeschooled?  If they are not affected, they won't care.

I have the utmost respect for Parents that choose to adopt.  They should receive additional tax credits based on the age of the child they adopt.  They are the unsung heroes of parenthood and the only Pro-Life people that I will take seriously.

It is easy to say that the majority of people committing mass shootings are home grown Americans, not the folks crossing the southern border.

It is easy to say that the majority of men that sexually assault minors dress like men, not like the Drag Queens the Conservatives are so afraid of nowadays.

In a way, I'm kind of glad politics are much more dramatic and volatile these days then they were back in the 80's and 90's.  More people are paying attention to not only who is elected, but what they do after they are elected.  The first year I was able to vote was 2000 and it has been a dramatic ride ever since.

What does Critical Race Theory and Woke have in common?  Most of the people complaining about them can't define what either are.  They feel as if they are not being proactive unless they are complaining about something they don't understand.

Unlike most Republicans, I think about mental health all of the time, not just after mass shootings.  There is no shame in asking for help.  I am not ashamed to admit that I have needed therapy.  I am proud to admit that it helped.  Life is tough, you don't have to live it alone.

Clarence Thomas is like a black Donald Trump.  They both think they're above the law.  They both aren't big fans of minorities, especially black women.  They both are insanely hypocritical.  They both will eventually REAP what they sow.

Senator Warnok of Georgia made a great speech on the floor DURING the mass shooter lock-down in Mid-Town Atlanta last Wednesday.  People need to stop praying with their hands and start praying with their feet.  I wonder if Herschal Walker would have had anything insightful to say in the Senate if he was the one elected.

I wonder if they found anything on Hunter Biden's laptop that is worthy of him getting impeached...wait...he's not the President!!!!!

Chameleons of Culture

How did a rapping/rocking fusion performer from Detroit become a Conservative Country Confederate?

I am still curious to know why some feel the need to display their disdain for a lifestyle other than heterosexual.  If a company supports a non-heterosexual icon, some people feel obligated to let everyone know that they want that company to go out of business.  They get aroused by pouring items down the drain (that they have already purchased) or wasting ammo shooting up Bud Light cans (that they have already purchased).

In my previous post, I mentioned folks keeping receipts.  The image below shows he wasn't always against Bud Light and Crossdressers (ironic how he is wearing a Coors Light cap).

I think this is the case of "Racist Uncle Syndrome" or just RUS.

There are a few folks out there that will admit that they may have a borderline racist relative that is known to make controversial statements at family gatherings.  Although they will proudly admit that they do not agree with that relative, they will treat the relative respectfully out of respect for the family.  Now imagine if that relative hit the lottery.  Suddenly you will notice a few of the other relatives being more agreeable with someone they formally dismissed.  They offer to make the racist relative a plate with extra potato salad.

I ask again, how did a rapping/rocking fusion performer from Detroit become a Conservative Country Confederate?  Did the folks in Michigan back in 1860 fight for General Lee?  What has changed?  His racist Uncle got elected President, that's all.  He has to cater to his crowd (what's left of it).  His country crowd got "MAGAtized."

Yes, it is true that Kid Rock was never considered a serious rapper.  Yes, it is true that Kid Rock started getting into semi-Country music prior to Trump taking office, but do you think Sheryl Crow would have recorded a song with him if he acted back then how he acts now?

The Keepers of Accountability

People are keeping receipts these days.  Receipt Keepers are growing in population because everyone practically has a smartphone in their pockets that keeps these receipts.  Everyone has cameras, data, and a world of resources at their fingertips that they can access at a moment's notice. EVERYONE now has the ability to be a Fact Checker.

There are a handful of Oath Keepers in jail thanks to the help of the Keepers of Accountability (and of course Prosecutors).

  • If you are on record of assaulting Capitol Police during January 6th after "backing the blue" during previous BLM protests, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you are on record of wanting to lock up Hillary for deleted e-mails you couldn't find but not Trump for classified documents that were actually found, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you are on record of wanting to impeach the 42nd President for his actions with an intern but not wanting to hold the 45th accountable for his actions with a porn star, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you are on record of spending more time looking for the birth certificate of the 44th President but turning the other cheek when the 45th President refused to provide his tax returns, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you are on record of defending Kyle Rittenhouse for killing BLM "rioters" but feel that Ashli Babbitt's "killer" should be prosecuted, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you are on record of kissing John McCain's ass when he was running against the 44th President in 2008 but shunned him when he opposed the 45th President before his passing ten years later, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you spend more time "protecting" children from being groomed by Drag Queens (viewing Renaissance sculptures) than you do gun-wielding Psychos, the Receipt Keepers will take note.
  • If you send personal texts about how much you despise someone but your company's stock price is determined by how you kiss that someone's ass, the Receipt Keepers will take note (eat your heart out Mr. "Beta-Male" Carlson).
  • {Warning:  I am going to go Old School on this next one}  If you had a "Sore Loserman" bumper sticker on your car after the Gore-Lieberman vs. Bush-Cheney 2000 election but are still convinced that the Biden vs. Trump 2020 election was "stolen"...meh...never mind...you know where I am going with this.

This isn't what I consider "whataboutism".  This is about accountability and credibility.

If I complain about 45 but then you bring up a complaint about 44 or 46, how does that address my complaint about 45?  If I also agree with your complaints about 44 and 46, I am the one holding everyone accountable.  Whataboutism is just a lazy way of only holding your foes accountable, and if you have a history of only holding your foes accountable and not your allies, you have no credibility

Yes, I WILL complain about the number of minorities needlessly killed by law enforcement.  If you say "what about the black-on-black crime in Chicago?" how does that address the completely unrelated issue that I originally broached?  If Black people stop killing each other in Chi-Town, law enforcement in all jurisdictions would put out an All Points Bulletin to reduce the number of Black people killed during their investigations and arrests?

Side story:  Last year I was at a 4th of July BBQ.  During a conversation with the Grill Master I brought up that I had recently received the Covid vaccine.  "How can you put something in your body when you don't know what is in it?" he asked after taking a bite of a hotdog purchased from the local Dollar General.  I did not immediately say “what about that hotdog?  But if you question what's been put in a vaccine but not question what's been put in a hotdog bun…meh…never mind....you know where I am going with this.

If I am eating a steaming bowl of chitterlings with hot sauce and you are eating a steaming bowl of dog shit, don't expect people to take you seriously when you complain about the smell of my food.  You are not a credible source of information and no one would read your restaurant review blog.

I highly recommend watching Chris Rock’s Selective Outrage.  I will (once again) highly recommend the Claytoonz blog where I shamelessly steal his artwork.

Cancel Culture & The Woke Boogeyman

What is the definition of "Woke"?  Perhaps the question should be "what is the opposite of Woke"?  When Woke is finally added to the Thesaurus, what will the synonyms and antonyms be?  Now if you replace the words in red font in the previous questions of this paragraph with Cancel Culture, the answers you will receive will be as unique as the person you have asked.  I'll take a stab at each definition:

Woke - Being aware that racism, sexism, and discrimination against minorities still exists and is a problem (yes...even after the Civil Rights Era).

Cancel Culture - The habit of wanting to rally other's support to eliminate people, businesses, and ideas that you find unfavorable.

I will just establish that I am Woke and anti-Cancel Culture based on these definitions.

Back in the late 90's, I got a kick that there was this comic strip where the main character was someone who I would eventually become: a socially awkward Engineer working out of a cubicle, Dilbert.  Another one of my favorites was The Far Side by Gary Larson.  The primary difference between Dilbert's cartoonist, Scott Adams and The Far Side's Gary Larson is that Dilbert's cartoonist said stupid controversial shit on social media.

As a result of said stupid controversial shit, Dilbert has been dropped by the majority of the newspapers in this country.  The Dilbert.com website now only has a link to Adams' Twitter handle and other subscription sites.  Although Adams's is a victim of Cancel Culture, he cannot whine about his free speech rights being violated.  I would not be surprised if the Company I work for cancelled me if I got on a podcast with thousands of subscribers and announced that all Black People should stay away from White People.

Adams is a victim of cancel culture just like a child molester is a victim of prison rape after getting convicted, being found guilty, and sharing a cell with a man named Bubba Longshaft.  I have a history of supporting the art but not the artist.  I loved the Cosby Show even though I wasn't a Bill Cosby fan.  I loved Thriller and Bad even though I thought Michael Jackson was an alien addicted to plastic surgery.  I REALLY enjoyed Dilbert comic strips even though I knew his creator is a Trump worshiper.

The fact of the matter is people are standing in front of a door that swings both ways preparing to kick it in and are freaking out when they get smashed in the face instead.  Being a victim of free speech and a victim of cancel culture are not always the same.  Adams tried to kick the door down with a podcast and got his nose busted when newspapers dropped him.  He didn't get thrown in jail for speaking his mind, he just lost a lot of money.

Is banning a cartoonist for what they say on a podcast for saying anti-black statements part of the Woke Agenda?  I don't think so.  According to my definitions above, demanding women have the right to vote was once considered Woke.  Allowing schools to be integrated was once considered Woke.  Making interracial marriage legal was once considered Woke.  Requiring handicap parking spots for the disabled was once considered Woke.  Adams would not have been banned from newspapers if he said what he said 50 years ago.

That is what I call PROGRESS.

Next time you hear someone use the word Woke, make sure you get THIER definition of it before the conversation continues.  Hell, try to get their definition of anti-Woke.  I am aware that America's shit stinks just like every other country.  We are not perfect, but at least we are diverse and (somewhat) united.  If you comprehend freedom of speech, you should comprehend that you should defend the right for people to say what they want, even if you don't agree with them.

I will miss going to the dilbert.com website and reading it on a daily basis.  I'm also glad Adams wasn't thrown in prison for his anti-black statements.  However I won't feel sorry for him when his wallet takes a hit for thinking he was going to get away with it.
