Karma Reaper's Introduction to the Regular Guys

I have recently embedded a stream of "The Regular Guys" morning show just below the Daily Dilbert comic strip. For those who are not familiar with the morning show, here is a brief introduction: This is a morning show that I have been listening to on the radio for the past year and a half. It airs on FM 100.5 Atlanta's Rock station.

The cast mainly made up four Regular Guys: Larry, Eric, "Southside" Steve and Tim Andrews. "Mix Master" Mark is not a Regular Guy but he supports with traffic, sports, and other functions of the show. Sebastian a.k.a. "Sea-Bass" is another member of the show who conducts various interviews to Atlanta's unsuspecting public. All of these gentlemen are hilarious...but different in every way.

Larry runs most of the controls and I mainly think of him as a Smart-Ass Conservative Jew. He is quick to spout his opinion and whine about politics, sexism, racism, the economy and so on. When it comes to politics, he sounds like a Spoiled Scorned Republican Sore-loser with sand in his vagina. He is quick to complain about Obama, liberals, and any Democrat with a pulse. Although I disagree with him on a lot of things (and roll my eyes when he goes into a political rant), I wouldn't have it any other way...do you know why??? Because it's funny as hell. If I wanted to listen to unfunny Conservative Political commentary, I would listen to an AM station.

Eric is the co-pilot and I mainly think of him as the Intellectual Voice of Reason for the show. I like listening to his "New Jogs" and the commentary that follows the headlines that he reads. I say this often, but if I was ever talked into voting Republican for an election, Eric is the only one on earth that could do it. He brings sensible points to Larry's right wing rants, but he considers himself more of an independent. I also love it when religion is argued about on the show being that Eric is the only Atheist.

"Southside" Steve is the Show's walking hormone. Being best known for his "conquests" of over 400 women, he is the designated Lady's Man of the show. This good old Southern Christian boy is the only guy on the show with a southern accent and has a reputation of flirting with many of the Show's interns (who the fuck wouldn't?). He brings a good dose of comedy to the show although the other guys love to test his intelligence.

For some weird reason, Tim Andrews is always announced by first and last name. He is the shows producer as well as impressionist. Some of my favorite impressions he does are Barny Frank, George Bush, and (believe it or not) Barack Obama. He may be the shows only partial Liberal and has the wits to match Larry on various political discussions. Although he has worked with Larry, Eric and Southside Steve for years, he recently became an official Regular guy just about a year ago. I think he is the funnies guy on the show.

Last but not least Sea-Bass is the guy on the street...literally. I know how accurate this is, but Sebastian is a Graduate of Georgia Tech, works for the Regular Guys, but he is homeless. Now, I'm not saying he is walking around wearing rags and asking for change...he just doesn't have an address. Weird. Anyway, he conducts various interviews as well as gather funny ass materials and audio for the show. A popular game he conducts is called "Answering Under the Influence" in which he goes to a bar, finds someone who is drunk off their ass, and then asks them various trivia questions. The next day, on the show, callers can guess whether or not the drunk will say the correct answer for prizes.

In a nutshell, I think it is a funny ass show. Many of my coworkers have gotten used to the sound of me laughing in my cubicle from 6 to 10 in the morning (eastern time). You can also visit their official website. I have a link on the "Where I Get My Information" portion of this page. Whenever you get the time, give these Obnoxious DJ's a listen. If have thick skin and like to laugh, this may be the morning show for you.
